Acceptance of these terms

By using sgpt.in you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, our Disclaimer and, where you pay a fee or make a donation, our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

About the trust

Samyakgyan Prachar-Prasar Trust is a non-profit charitable trust registered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India (Reg. No. 09/JAIPUR/2022), devoted to the study and dissemination of Jain Darshan, Prakrit, Sanskrit and the reading of ancient manuscripts. Through this website it offers information about its workshops, courses, Educational Financial Assistance, Free Accommodation, Career Path Counselling, internships and other programmes, and publishes articles and podcasts.

Using the website

You may use the website for lawful, personal, educational and informational purposes. You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe anyone’s rights while using it;
• try to get into parts of the website, its servers or data that are not meant for you;
• upload or send viruses or harmful code, or disrupt the website;
• copy content or data from it by automated means without our written permission; or
• pretend to be someone else, or to speak for the trust.

Programmes & applications

• Information about a programme helps you decide whether to apply. Submitting a form or application does not oblige the trust to admit, select, fund, accommodate or employ you.
• Applications are reviewed at the trust’s discretion against each programme’s criteria. Statuses you may hear from us are Submitted, Under Review, Approved and Not Selected.
• Dates, fees, eligibility, seats and benefits may change, and a programme may be modified, postponed or withdrawn. The trust will tell applicants affected by such a change.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit. False or misleading information may lead to an application being set aside, or a benefit being withdrawn.
• Some programmes have their own terms (for example, course or workshop conditions), shown on that programme’s page; they apply in addition to these terms.

Fees & donations

Where a course or workshop charges a fee, the amount is shown on its page before you register. Fees and donations are paid through a third-party payment gateway — not on this website — and the trust does not store your card, UPI or bank details. Donations are made through donate.sgpt.in.

Fees and donations are generally non-refundable; the exceptions — a payment made by mistake, or a programme cancelled by the trust — are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. As a 12A registered charitable trust, we issue receipts for donations as the law requires.

Writers’ accounts

• Anyone may register at sgpt.in/admin to write for the trust’s blog; an account becomes active only when the trust approves it, and the trust may suspend or close an account at any time.
• Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
• What you submit must be your own work (or used with permission and credited), accurate to the best of your knowledge, and free of unlawful, defamatory or offensive material.
• You keep the copyright in what you write. By submitting it you give the trust a free, non-exclusive, permanent licence to publish, edit for style and length, translate, and share it on the website, in its feeds and podcasts, and in the trust’s other publications, with your name as author.
• Editors decide what is published. Publication does not mean the trust endorses every view expressed — see our Disclaimer.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of this website — text, the trust’s name and seal, logos, design, photographs, recordings and compilations of scholarly material — belongs to or is licensed to the trust and is protected by law.

You may read, link to and share our pages, and quote short passages for personal, educational or scholarly use with clear credit to the trust and a link to the page. You may not republish, sell or commercially use our content, or use the trust’s name or seal, without our written permission. Scriptural texts quoted on the site remain the heritage of the tradition; our translations, commentary and presentation of them are protected as above.

If you believe something on the website infringes your rights, write to info@sgpt.in with the details; we will review it promptly and remove it where appropriate.

What you send us

When you send us a message, application or other material, you confirm that it is accurate and yours to share, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or contain unlawful content. We use it for the purpose you sent it for, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Other services & links

The website links to the trust’s other services — the Academy, the Career Path counselling portal, Patrika, the E-Library and the donation portal — and to outside websites. Each has its own terms, which apply when you use it. We provide links for convenience and are not responsible for websites we do not run.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The website and its content are provided “as is” for general information and education; our Disclaimer explains this in full.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the trust, its trustees, staff and volunteers are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of — or inability to use — this website, a linked website, or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Indemnity

You agree to compensate the trust, its trustees, staff and volunteers for any claim, loss or expense caused by your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website, or your violation of the law or of someone else’s rights.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to resolve any dispute with you in good faith — please write to us. Any dispute that remains is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
