Samyak Gyan Prachar Prasar Trust was established by a small group of scholars, practitioners, and trustees deeply committed to the preservation of Jain Darshan and the languages — Prakrit, Sanskrit, and Apabhramsa — that carry its scriptural tradition. The trust grew out of the broader ecosystem of Jain scholarly institutions in Jaipur and Rajasthan, drawing inspiration from elders, pandits, and the example of Pt. Todarmal-ji and other legendary scholars whose work shaped the regional tradition.
From its early days, the trust's emphasis has been on two intertwined commitments: preserving what has been received, and propagating it accessibly to those who would not otherwise encounter it. These are not separate missions — they are the same mission seen from two angles. A tradition that is preserved but not shared becomes a museum. A tradition that is shared without preservation loses its depth.
Today, the trust runs national-level workshops in Prakrit grammar, manuscript studies, Sanskrit conversation, and research methodology — in active collaboration with the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rajasthan and Pandit Todarmal Smarak Trust. We support students through interest-free educational grants, run a residential program for serious scholars, host a video podcast featuring senior scholars, and offer career counselling free of charge to anyone navigating these paths.
The work is not new in spirit — it is the continuation of what generations of pandits, teachers, and householders have done before. What the trust adds is structure, scale, and accessibility — enough that the next student who needs a path can find one, and the next scholar who wants to be heard can be.
