National Research Paper
Workshop 2025
राष्ट्रीय शोध-पत्र कार्यशाला
A four-day national workshop on the methodology and craft of scholarly research — held at the Todarmal Digambar Jain Siddhant Mahavidyalaya, Jaipur, in joint collaboration with the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rajasthan.
About the Workshop
The National Research Paper Workshop was organised in joint collaboration between the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rajasthan, the Samyak Gyan Prachar-Prasar Trust, and the Pandit Todarmal Smarak Trust. It was held from 22 to 25 December 2025 at the Todarmal Digambar Jain Siddhant Mahavidyalaya in Jaipur, with eighty participants.
Over four focused days, the workshop traced the full arc of scholarly research — what research is, why and how it is done; its principal components and types; the structure of a research paper and its abstract; the kinds of citations and the format of a bibliography; the computational tools useful in research; the sources of research and research ethics; and the linguistic and grammatical rules of academic writing — alongside model research in Jain philosophy and a set of proposed topics for new scholars.
The teaching was led by senior scholars: Prof. Anil Jain, former Head of the Hindi Department at the University of Rajasthan; Prof. Veersagar Jain and Prof. Anekant Jain of the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Delhi; Dr. Santosh Gupta of the University of Rajasthan; and Dr. Jinesh Sheth (Birmingham / Mumbai). The workshop was convened and directed by Shastri Swanubhav Jain of Khaniyadhana.
The inaugural and closing ceremonies were graced by Dr. Anubhav Varshney, Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rajasthan, Dr. Rohit Kumar Jain of the Department of Sociology at the University of Rajasthan, and distinguished guests including Shri Rakesh Gangwal and Shri Vineet Gangwal, alongside several others from academia and the trust community.

In their own words
These days changed how I approach the texts. The structured, step-by-step progression made difficult material feel reachable, and by the end I could work with the original sources directly.Aakash Sharma आकाश शर्मा Research Scholar · Department of Sanskrit
The faculty were generous and patient. Coming in with very little background, I left with both confidence and a clear method I can keep practising on my own.Priya Mehta प्रिया मेहता M.A. Student · University of Rajasthan
What I valued most was the daily rhythm of study and practice. It forced me to consolidate each day’s learning rather than letting the concepts blur together.Devansh Jain देवांश जैन Independent Scholar · Khaniyadhana
The atmosphere at the Mahavidyalaya was perfect for immersive study — serious fellow students, generous scholars, and a schedule that respected both intensity and rest.Shruti Bhatnagar श्रुति भटनागर PhD Candidate · Jain Studies Centre
