Refund & Cancellation Policy.

This policy explains when fees and donations paid to Samyakgyan Prachar-Prasar Trust (सम्यग्ज्ञान प्रचार-प्रसार ट्रस्ट) can be refunded, and how to ask. In short: payments are non-refundable, except a payment made by mistake and reported within 15 days, or a programme the trust cancels.

What this covers

This policy applies to every payment made to Samyakgyan Prachar-Prasar Trust: fees for courses and workshops (for example, the Nayamīmāṁsā certificate course) and donations, including those made through donate.sgpt.in. Many of the trust’s programmes are free; where a fee applies, it is shown on the programme’s page before you register. The trust provides education and charitable services only — it sells no physical goods, so nothing is shipped.

Course & workshop fees

Fees are kept low to cover a part of each programme’s cost, and once paid they are non-refundable — including if you later cannot attend, attend only part of the programme, or do not complete it. The exceptions are:

A payment made by mistake — see the next section.
A programme cancelled by the trust: you receive a full refund of the fee.
A programme postponed by the trust: your place carries over to the new dates; if you cannot attend them, you may ask for a full refund within 15 days of the new dates being announced.
Registration not accepted: if the trust cannot confirm your registration (for example, the course is full), the fee is refunded in full.

Payments made by mistake

If you are charged twice for the same payment, pay a wrong amount, or a payment goes through in error, tell us within 15 days of the payment. After checking the transaction, we refund the mistaken amount in full.

If money leaves your account but the payment fails or no confirmation arrives, the payment gateway or your bank usually reverses it automatically within 5–7 working days. If it has not been reversed by then, write to us with the details below.

Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts to a charitable trust and are non-refundable. A donation made by mistake — a duplicate, a wrong amount, or a payment you did not intend — is refunded if you tell us within 15 days, as above. When a donation is refunded, its receipt is cancelled.

How to ask for a refund

Write to info@sgpt.in with “Refund request” in the subject, and include:

your name and the email address or phone number used for the payment;
the date and amount of the payment;
the transaction ID or payment reference, and the receipt if you have one; and
the programme or purpose, and the reason for the request.

We acknowledge your request within 2 working days and tell you our decision within 7 working days.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method — the same card, UPI account or bank account — within 7–10 working days of approval. Your bank or card issuer may take a few more days to show it. We do not refund in cash or to a different account. Payment gateway charges are not deducted from a refund for a mistake or a cancellation by the trust.

Cancelling a registration

You may cancel your registration for a programme at any time by writing to us, so that your place can be offered to someone else. Cancelling does not make a fee refundable, except in the cases listed above.
